It’s Official: 2012 Nissan GT-R Goes 0-60 In 2.9 Seconds
Nissan best selling car has been updated, the GT-R, for the 2012 model year. With modest updates to performance hardware and new trims, the 2012 GT-R gets a little better. But what’s also an improvement is its acceleration.
At a media test ride event this week held at the Sendai Hi-land Race Way, the Nissan GT-R went from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The automaker subsequently released a digital readout from an electronic measurement device from Digitek (see below) to prove the feat.
Those numbers are impressive considering the GT-R’s relatively affordable price of $89,950. With 530 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque, coupled with a sophisticated electronic all-wheel-drive system and a dual-clutch transmission, the latest GT-R is certainly fitting of the nickname it has earned in Japan — Godzilla.
